    Tuition in warm climes?

    I have 6 months off between jobs and want to go somewhere hot (probably Spain or Portugal) for a week, receive some tuition and play against other students of a similar quality. Most academies seem to assume you are coming as a twosome with prices to match.

    Any suggestions for the singleton golfer?

    Where do you want to go or are you limiting the search to Spain and Portugal? I know a few great academies around the world you can go to.

    Let me know where and what you want to do at the academy and how long you want to stay and I'll fix you up, no problem.

      No geographical limits really - I just want to go somewhere for a week maximum in April where there will be some sun. I am still a beginner - I go round my easy local course in around 115, and a more difficult course around 140. But I know the etiquette and as I improve I am having fewer really disastrous holes.

      The problem is that none of my golfing friends will be free to go away around that time so I need somewhere which caters for the single golfer.

        Should also have said that an ideal day would be a couple of hours tuition in the morning and then an 18 hole round in the afternoon - either with a well matched fellow pupil or with the pro.

          Sorry ... have been very busy today teaching 2 tour pros. Okay, these are the guys I go to first:

          1. paulcranglesschoolofgolf.com in Spain. A great guy, great facilities and wonderful programs.
          2. If you wanted to go to America, I suggest you visit this website: usgolfschoolguide.com and there I'd suggest you start with: Faldo, Grand Cypress, Butch harmin, Dave Peltz or Ken Venturi. I have been to them all and you're guaranteed of good coaching, good faciliies and even better treatment.
          3. In South Africa, Dale Hayes has a very good school in Gauteng. I don't have the contact details to hand with me at the studio but I know Dale very well and if you're interested I will get his details for you.
