      Re: Exempt and non-exempt

      Each tournament has its own exemption status. Most PGA events are open to those that hold a PGA card. They would be considered, "Exempt" from having to qualify to play in it. ANY person holding a reasonable hdcp (usually a 2) is able to try to qualify on a Monday for that tournament. They usually take the top 4 or so. Those playing in the 1 day qualifying tournamant are usually Buy.Com players, local pros that really know that course, and "Donaters", those that have no chance in hell, but want the expierence. Take for instance this week, "Doral". They are only taking the top 64 players on the Money list. You had to qualify as a PGA card holder up to this point in this years money list. These top 64 are "Exempt", and there is no qualifier tournament for this one. The PGA, and Masters are like this as well. Hope this wasn't too much (-;
