Well to be fair Greg Norman started in his late teens (17 or 18 i think).

But its different now, to become even an average tour pro (nationwide mostly, the occasional foray onto the pga perhaps) you have to have been a top amateur playing to plus 3 at least. Most guys (or girls) that make it usually reach scratch before they leave the junior ranks.

It is possible but you really need to see if you can play first. YOu will probably be able to tell after a couple of months.

There's no reason why not ... if you have the talent and the desire ...

I always use my favourite example when people ask me that "age" question. Chew on this and then choke on it if you believe it can't be done.

Larry Nelson took up golf at the age of 21 when he came back from Veitnam. He broke 70 within 9 months and his first 4-round event was a PGA Tour Event. He'd never played an amateur event he went from club golf to the PGA Tour.

He won the PGA Championship in 1981 (aged 34) and the 1982 US Open (aged 35). He's also won 8 other PGA Tour events and 19 Champions Tour events. 3 times a Ryder Cup member...

So, hell yeah it's possible. You might think it's tougher now but it's actually easier. There is better equipment, more coaching, more tours, more tournaments ... so absolutely it can be done. If you have the talent I promise you it can be done.

In South Africa there's an ex-rugby player. He's just turned 26 and a year ago he didn't even know which end of the golf club is which. He's now got a tour card for the SA Tour and Asian Tours. The first official tournament he played in was the Tour School and he got 1 of the 32 cards among the 400 starters. He was breaking par within 4 weeks!

So, is it possible? Yes, if you're one of the fortunate who fall into golf easily.
