That is an unequivocal yes - they both do the same thing. Do not be fooled by the "dual hinge" vs the "single hinge" argument from most Medicus owners. Both hinges break in the same direction (2nd hinge does nothing but to make for a more full turn) - the dual hinge was just a great marketing ploy.

Don't get me wrong though - I LOVE the Medicus, have seen huge results in my own game, and bring it to the course.

Our customers love both trainers. See following info drawn from my store's sales:

Our online store sells far more of the Refiner pro products (70% refiner to 30% medicus), w/ high customer satisfaction. I attribute this to the lower price of the Refiner.

Our mortar and brick store sells the reverse (80% Medicus to 20% Refiner). This is most likely due to customer familiarity. Unless you are internet-savvy, you most likely have not heard of the Refiner.


To make a short story long, you won't go wrong with either. Save some bucks (but some "risk" in a lesser-known product), or go with the well-known brand name.
