I am interested to know how the course is rated on any competion day in the US (and anywhere else for that matter). In Australia the CCR (calculated course rating - I think) is taken as the 15th percentile of the scores of the field playing in the competion. To explain - if there are 100 players, the score of the 15th lowest would be the CCR for that day. Handicap adjustments are calculated on that basis. Is it the same in other countries?
It's actually a little more complicated than this as the result is only allowed to vary by a certain amount from the ACR. The ACR (Australian Course Rating) rates a golf course on difficulty as compared with other courses. I guess that it would be similar elsewhere but i would like to hear.
