  • The Big Break IV

I just got selected to audition in Chicago on May 7th for the "Big Break IV". I think this year the contest will be in England and exemption for a European Tour event. So I hope to make it past the auditions and come across the pond! Wish me luck!

That's awesome. I think the finals for big break III are tonight. I hope the young chick wins, I think she has a lot more potential and it wouldn't be a wasted exemption.

I think the European tour would be a better place to start a touring career. Be a lot cheaper to travel to the events anyway. Plus a train ride would be lot more relaxing than dealing with airport security.

    Best of luck.

Good luck Greg - this could be a great trip! Here's hoping you're selected! (and end up like Danni from the BB3).

                    Congrats!

Like Gord said. If you get on you'll have one big cheering section. Heck, even for the tryouts you have one. GTO being 17,000+ members and all. Anyways, good luck!

Thank you all! Good feelings about it too... I have a purpose now to practice and play. What a difference a little fire under your belly will do to lift you up.

I went in to the BB web site and read all the challanges they do to you. I'm going to start to practice all the crazy stuff...hitting over a 15' wall from 10' behind it, through a door, through small holes in a wall, left handed, blindfolded, ball at waist high, over the head..what ever I can think of they will probably do.

                          Re: The Big Break IV

Just got back from Chicago. It was about a 45 minute session. They had you sign a release then warm up. After about 10 minutes, I was asked to hit 10 shots: They picked the target and asked you to call your shot to Hook, slice and hit straight with the Driver and 5i. Then Hit 3 shots to a green about 70 yards away. Then hit 1 flop shot 20 yards away. There was a good left to right wind, and my 5i hook just stayed straight, so I really gave my driver a littel extra hook and overcooked it. Darn it! My slices didn't really slice that much because I was afraid the wind would really take them off line, so I tried to hit them straight a littel left of the target, and that is what they did -- stayed straight left of the target (for some reason) so that might hurt me some. I hit the green on all 3 shots, thank goodness. And my flop was good. That was it for the skills. The interview was really easy. Talk about yourself...Ok...no problem there. They would ask questions like, "Tell me about your professional expierence". "Tell me what you think you would bring to the show". "Who was your favorite person on any of the other shows?" "Tell the producers why they should pick you to be on the show."

I will know in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Very cool Greg! It's tough with a cross wind to hit those draws and fades to make them look controlled. I'm sure if you had problems that many others had similar problems as well.
