  • Terrible Round

Yesterday I was just about to stop working an go to golf league. I try to get there about 45 minutes early to putt some and warm up.

Just as I was about to take off one of my clients called about some pieces of their website not working. So I was rushing to get them going before league. Ended up getting about half of it done. Then going to league and finishing it afterwards.
    Talk about a game downer.
I shot my worst score I've shot in about a year. Proably about 8 strokes over my handicap for 9 holes.

I didn't hit one solid shot all day, and I didn't even have any penalites. Hit a lot of fat and thin shots.

I think a lot of it was I didn't have any warm-up. I had about 4 minutes between tee time and the time I got there.

At least I have the work excuse .

    Re: Terrible Round

I bet a lot of it was that there was "unfinished" business in your head, and you were still working on it. You were not committed to golf. This is very easy to fall into. There is really nothing you can do about it. Accept it as for what it was...a day on the course where you go to get out of the office.

      Re: Terrible Round

      I agree,
Forget it, just turn up next time and don't even think about it every game is different.

I know what you mean with work in your head, this definatley puts you off your game, soft music on the way to the course is my tip.

I notice young Paul Casey shot a 78 at the BMW @ Wentworth yesterday, I bet he doesn't let thet bother him today.

I agree with Greg and Ian. My theory is: leave your work at work. Leave your troubles with bills/relationship/other personal life problems at home. Leave your swing fault error thoughts on the range. Go to the course with a clear mind and a positive attitude. This is the way to better golf.
