  • Looking for Game tracking Software??

I am wondering if anyone knows of any good software for the computer or palm pilot that allows you to track your game (hits on the green, # of putts, handicap score, etc.)? I noticed the golfchannel.com has one, but i want something i can load on the computer.

        There's golfhandicapper (try golfhandicapper.com).

It's pretty basic, but it gets the job done.

Yes, I use this program on my Windows PC to track all my stats. It gives you an extensive set of notations on a preprinted scorecard for any course you pre-enter. Then you take the card and enter all the notes about your round. A huge number of reports that is filterable in any wany you can think...."Only stats for that couse, that month, in competition, on a rainny day where the greens were soft and fast...etc. You can have any number of players tracked, not just your own. I use it to keep updated on my students' scores. They just email/fax me their score sheets. I turn around and tell them their stats, where they need help, what they did better and compare them to their goals.

If there is a downside, it is in the extensive shorthand notes that each hole/shot needs attention. So that can take away from your general flow of the round..."Ok, so I hit a 265 drive from tee boxes that where 5 yards back from the cards distances. The I hit a thin 5i over the green left, and was in really deep rough that took a SW hit like a flop shot to 15 ft. Then I 2 putted to a downhill right to left breaker it leaving the first one 2 inches short...Bogey. Ok, let me look at the chart an see what a "thin" code is..."

So you can see that to take this to the extream you better have a caddy. That or a lot of practice using the codes, and a lot of extra time.

The simpler basic way to track most of the stats only require the score on each hole. Then if you where in a greenside bunker and the # of putts as notations will get you about 50%. You make the call what else you like to track.

There is a demo version I think that limits most of the reports, but will get you the flavor.

I concur - that thing is berserk! Very, very thorough, however.

I even tried that one, it was not up to the mark.
