Hi Everybody:
I've been a member of this site for a long time and have yet to post. I think this is a WONDERFUL site, but I'm at an end.
It has gotten to the point where I am contemplating giving golf up
Let me explain, I took 4 lessons in early spring and I was hitting the ball better than I ever have in my life. It only lasted one week.
1. With EVERY iron, I push the ball straight right, not a slice, right. And only about 50 yards. If I do hit my 7 iron straight, it is only about 75 yards.
2. I have started to slice again with all of my woods. And I mean slice, real nasty. Here's what I've done to correct some of these problems to no success.
1. I have loosened my grip on my irons and have really focused on using only arms and shoulders to start my takeaway, once the club is parallel to the ground I hinge my wrists. I've also tried to roll my wrists on the follow-through to fix the push. Even with these changes to my golf swing, I still push dead right and get no distance.
2. To fix the slice with the woods, I've also tried to roll my wrists. The problem is everything I read says that I am coming inside-out on my swing instead of outside-in and that's causing my slice.
To be perfectly honest with you guys, I've tried to grasp this in-side out swing path but have no idea exactly what it means. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, if anybody has any ideas at all, I would be very greatful.
I am playing a round tonight, I couldn't take anymore of the range, but I have no confidence that I'll play well. I know I need an attitude adjustment as well.
Sincerely,
