Re: Poll - Dave Pelz talks **** - true or false?
I think Dave Pelz is a genius who has a flair for teaching. However his methods are complex and most of his advice is second hand much of it common sense that the top pros have known about for decades certainly the putting tips. Pelz's stuff is top quality for Pro's and serious amateurs who have time to spend a couple of hours on the practice green every couple of days.
It's a matter of what you like. Personally I like detailed technical teaching but many prefer it far more simplified.
Yet another example that you cant please everyone.
And I will chalk Ricky's statement up to his extreme youth.
If Dave Pelz was full of **** guys like Mickelson, Kite, Elkington and Janzen wouldnt have went to him and seen results afterwards.
He is no better or worse than Leadbetter, Harmon, Haney etc etc etc. All have their own talents and all have proven Major winning students.

Re: Poll - Dave Pelz talks **** - true or false?
In my opinion, Dave Pelz is great.
1. He understands what he is talking about
2. He can prove, scientfically, that he is correct
3. He is trying to help golfers like "you and I" .. the average player ... in fact, he *really* wants to help us shave shots of our short game
4. I have his book "Dave Pelz Short Game Bible" ... it's a tough read at the start, but once you get into it, the book is very instructional and informative.
.. amusingly, his son Eddie .. seen frequently on The Golf Channel ... looks similar to one of the characters from "The Munsters" or "The Addams Family"

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Poll - Dave Pelz talks **** - true or false?
False.
Most 'feel' players don't do well with Pelz - and Pelz readily admits it.
Dave worked for NASA before going into golf - this should speak volumes about his approach: Scientific, methodical, logical, numbers-based.
That's why pitches are the Pelz clock system, not the Pelz 'feel it' system.
Now, that said, Dave does talk about making practice swings until you're feeling the good swing, and he does talk about visualizing the shot you're about to make (well, ok, he and every other golf coach).
But if you can get past his 'mechanical' teaching style, his stuff is very useful.
