  • Curing slice with ball placement

I hit a nice draw with my irons but my woods I slice ?? I couldn't hit a driver as it sliced too much. I've now figured out what's wrong. I used to position the ball way forward, in line with my left heel, but by moving the ball back 2 to 3 inches I no longer slice but hit it dead straight. The further forward you place the ball the more you open your stance compared to your feet.

ball position doesnt really have anything to do with how open your stance is. the solution is only temporary and you should see a pro.

Bonzi is right, ball position doesn't effect your stance, however, ball position does make a difference to your swing path.

I thought I played the ball off my left heel for 1W - until I saw my setup on video. I was playing the ball off my toes. So I moved it back to my heel (in the video) - about a 3 inch move - and started hitting the ball straight.

With the ball too far forward, it simulates an out-to-in swing path which puts cut spin on the ball.
