I posted the thread about the fourball going to Scotland a while ago, but now one has dropped out, so does anybody know any good game formats for a threeball?

Re: Any good game formats for a threeball?
Thanks, there`s a lot there - I can`t find anything much better than the one where everybody is playing matchplay against the other two.
It ought to be possible to work out some sort of Wolf game with three players though?

Re: Any good game formats for a threeball?
I know a great game.
Each persons H/Capp equates to one foot of string.
For example a 12 h/capper has a 12 feet length of string, now the game.
With each player armed with his length of string you all tee off, now evertime your in trouble you can use your string, take the length of relief you need to have a shot and cut the string, if you needed say 4 feet to get a shot at the green from behind a tree of a bad lie you have lost four feet of string.
You can also use your string for a putt say a tricky three feet putt downhill, have a give me but you loose that length of string.
It doesn't slow play up you just cut the string quickly until you have none left.
Another great game is play your h/capp backwards, start your round 28 under if thats you h/capp everytime you are one shot over par put on your score card -27 and so on.
There is no need to keep you score doing this once you are level par you start to go to +1 and so on.
It helps take your mind of your actual score.
Ian.
