  • Driver dillema!!!!!!!!!

Hope some of you guys can help. I want to purchace a new driver and want to get one which has a low trajectory. I currently use a Cobra 414comp 9deg stiff shaft which i find excellent except it gives a high trajectory. I can hit this club 300+yds straight- but only if there is no wind, into the wind the distance is much smaller. My overall game is good and I have shot 74 from the back sticks this summer.

Becareful lowering your trajectory. You want anywhere between 13 to 15 degrees trajectory. If you go below that, you are going to notice a loss of distance (unless your fairways are hardpan). Don't worry about the clubhead - 9* is fine. If you are hitting really high, get the shaft (which probably has a low kick point) switched out for one with a mid kickpoint. Ensure you check your launch angle on a computerized analysis machine before you switch the shaft to ensure you are in fact well above the 13* - 15* range.

Also, where is the ball position in your stance?? If the ball is too far forward, you will be hitting up too much on the ball, creating excessive height.
Do you get a lot of height with all your clubs? It may be a swing flaw, not a problem with the club. For example, if you are reverse pivoting, you are opening your clubface as you falll away from the target, creating a higher ball flight. Something to check before you start altering equipment....
