  • Driving Iron

I have searched the posts and I wasn't able to find anything on a driving iron... has anyone tried one.... your thoughts would be appreciated.... what is the difference in distance between a driving iron and a "normal" driver...

I have worked out the issues I was haveing with my driver - mostly a balance qustion - I have have the most difficult time with the higher lofted clubs - the less the club is lofted the easier I find it....

    Re: Driving Iron

I have two driving irons. They are Cleveland Quadpro Launch irons, 15* and 18*. I find they hit very similar to hybrids. Since I have found fairway woods I can hit, I have not had a use for them. They are both for sale if you are interested....

      Re: Driving Iron

They are awesome for people who can hit irons but have trouble hitting woods. Up till late last year I used one. I now use my driver as I can hit them better now. I took out my 5 wood last week and put back in the driving iron. I get the same distance out of it as I do a 3 wood. maybe a couple of yards less. The one I had was for driving and needed to get off a tee. If you are looking for something that can hit off the deck you would be better off with a fairway wood or a 1 iron.
