  • Shot Of A Season...

Well the season here is pretty much over... and I haven't been on the site too much... Just tried to play.... Next year some lessons right off and try to carry them into the season and hopefully lower my score. I started out 100's with top end 110 and got down to 90's (lowest for 18 was 92) except one day I went and I just wanted to go by myself and work on things. I played 9 holes shot a 42 which is pretty good for me... BUT THE HIGHLIGHT and man I should have cleaned the clubs and put them away for the season then. Was about 2 weeks ago.

PICTURE it... a short little par 3 102 yards hitting from an elevated tee box. I was debating using a putter but I wanted to play seriously. So I used a 56 degree wedge, Opened the face and smacked it up to the sky. It landed about 5 feet right behind the hole and spun back right past the cup and it kept going backwards for about 10 yards past the cup. LOL.. lots of spin on their.

I was so impressed with the backspin that I didn't clue in that it rolled right beside the cup no more than 2 inches to the side... If it would have been in, I surely would have put those clubs away for the season. LOL... ah who am I kidding... i never want to put them away... But I still dream about that shot...

I hear ya - I just got back from a round where on one pitch, the ball stopped 2" from the cup, and on another, it burned the edge HARD, leaving a 4 foot comebacker... both times for bird.
