  • 18 Holes during Lunch

After reading one of Greg's post, I set out to try one of the ideas mentioned in the article. It went something like this...When you practice at the range try this: Split the bucket of balls in to two parts, one to practice like you always do(loosening a bit) and another to play 18 holes. Imagine you are on the course. Imagine the first hole - let us say a par 4. Imagine fairways and OBs and bunkers and trees- very important. Now pull the club you would on the first hole and fire away - with pre short routine. Approximate the diatnance you hit and choose the next club to reach the green. Choose a spot as the green and go for it. If within 30 yards of the mark, give your self a 2 putt and move on, right on give a birdie! If you are outside the 30 yard circle give your self a chip and two putt. Count your strokes and you have an 18 hole score.

It had an important effect. Remember how we complain, that we hit them straight at the range but cannot make that happen at the course? This above experiment will give you the feel of playing in a course while still being in the range. It made me nervous, like in the course. It made me tense up like in the course. And it made it fun. Even better, if you could get a friend to join you. I am planing to play this game with my 8 year old son.

18 holes for 5 bucks under 1/2 hour is great!!

I thought you had actually come up with a way to play 18 during lunch. I was kinda disappointed
