  • Anyone ever made a "good buddy"?

Yep, a 10-4. Ouch. I was cruising along playing bogey golf, hooked my drive OB on 16 (548 yd. Par 5) and it just went downhill from there. Took a TEN. Came back with a par on 17, though.

    10-4, good buddy!

    Wouldn't that be a 10-5?

I've made 10's in the most unlikely of circumstances, and it usually is the result of a penalty stroke (or more) and a brutal short game.

Take this weekend for example. Bombed a drive to within 50 yards of the centre of the green.

Then I choked my club open on the approach, and had a nice toe mishit to... 50 yards to the centre of the green, just 20 yards left of where I started.

Next up: Chunk my chip to the fringe - 30 foot putt.

Three putts later, I hole out. Add a penalty stroke or two in there for good measure, and 10 shows up pretty easily. Hell - on a par 5, I bombed a drive, flubbed 3 approaches, got on, putted off, chipped on, and three putted for 10.

I didn't score well in that tourney, but it certainly illustrates the point of the first post!

Up here, we call it making a moose.

Playing comp last week, the 7th hole par 5 490 yards normal i get par on this hole but for some reason I topped my drive and it only when 60 yards. I then pulled out my 3 wood and smashed about 240 yards up the fairway out of some ruff it my best 3 wood shot of the year. my 3rd shot only an easy 190 yards with no hazzards in my way I pulled out my 5 iron and I topped it and it only went 10 yards. didn't change club don't know why and smoked it 200 yards landed 10 yards past the green under a shrub. took two shots to get it out of the shrub. then a bad chip that went a good foot onto the green, and another 3 putts for an excellent score of 10. Then next hole is a par 3 130 yards, I pulled my pw landed right infront of the cup just 23 cm short of the hole won a ball closet to the pin, and sank the birdie.

: "How could you have shot a TEN?"

: "I missed the putt for a nine."

Yeah, Good Buddy, been there done that!
