    This is a no brainer, putter everytime.


    I played with a friend the other week, he drove the ball pretty average all day and probably only drew the cannon out the bag 8 or 9 times in the round preferring the 17* hybrid the rest of the time.

    He single putted 6 greens on his way to a 66.....the defence rests m'lud...

      Give me distance. To be one of the best putters in the world you could go around in less than 25 putts. but to be the longest driver you would have to drive well over 400 yards. I rather hear wow when you smash a 400+ drive more than the claps of a 20 metre putt.

        I have seen plenty 10 handicappers who can paste a ball 280 yards but I have never ever ever seen a scratch handicapper who couldnt putt.....

        I dropped 3 shots of my handicap a couple of years ago and it was putting, not distance off the tee that did it.

        Could be something in that.

          If you work it out, nearly half your shots are putts on your scorecard. Better putter any day !!
