Hi guys,
Just like some of your opinion here. I am currently using the Nike Ignite+ 380 with 8.5 degree loft and with the Graphite Design ys-6 S flex that is 65 grams 3.5torque.
The problem is, I have been told that X flex would be more suitable for me. To confirm this, I went to the Fujikura shaft fitting centre and got my clubhead speed, ball speed etc measured. With my driver, the clubhead speed was at 51m/s (about 110miles/h) and the ball speed was at 71m/s. The guy at Fujikura also told me that my current shaft is way to whippy and too light for me which will give me inconsistency (I am a bit inconsistent but not bad).
He recommends that I change the shaft on my club to either the Speeder 757 (which most pros and Michelle Wie use) or Z-Com TW-74, both X flex and weighs around 75g which he said would be more stable for me. The stats that came out from both of these shafts actually gave me an improvement in ball speed at 74m/s.
Ofcourse, both of these are fairly expensive and the cost is basically almost enough for me to get new drivers with decent shafts already in it.
If it were to be a new driver, I was thinking of getting the Titleist 905T with the Fujikura Speeder shaft(not the same as the 757). Or, another option of the shaft is the Diamana 73. What do you guys think of the Diamana?
Now, its not like I really love the Nike clubhead but I am still thinking if its really worth it for me to get something that would make me hit it better . The other problem is, I still somehow dont think that I am an "X Flex" swinger eventhough all people in the know tell me so.Am I really or is an S Flex still ok?
Besides, I am using the Dynamic Gold S300 in my irons and the guy at Fujikura said that it was ok for me in the irons.
Anyway, just like to hear your opinions and sorry for such a long email. I have been contemplating of giving myself a chance at turning pro and my aim is to be able to shoot around 3 or 4 under by the end of the year.
Matt
