Hi all, I could do with some help please?? I have been taking lessons for about 6 months now, with swing changes, my natural shot shape Was a draw prior to lessons. Now all i seem to be able to hit are fade come slices....... Which does not really help me at my local course.. because it really favors a draw on most holes??? Any ideas???

Yeah, get the clubhead through impact sooner than your body.

      Re: Golf Lessons

What's the point of these forums if all people do is recommend getting lessons. The OP says he's now slicing as a result of lessons...go figure. Cmays has helped me in the past with my grip, and I have no doubt if the guy describes what he's doing (not what he thinks he's doing) people can offer advice that can help him. That is what he's looking for...not advice to go get more lessons.

You make a good point, Durtman.

That said, the fact of the matter is that it's difficult to diagnose the disease just by hearing the symptom - as many 'swing diseases' have the same symptoms.

And with that, we want to cure the disease - not simply treat the symptom.

Most anti-slice quick-fix advice consists of strengthening the grip and closing the stance.

In fact, due to not having a range to work on my swing, those two fixes are exactly what I apply to my driver swing (and I still get a fade).

Swing video certainly helps some, when diagnosing a swing flaw.

If you still have faith in your instructor, why not go back for a follow-up and let him or her know of your concerns. For me, lessons are a continuing part of my approach - year after year after year . . . . . . . .

            Hi guys

Thanks for your replies, I'll try and answer some of the questions:

            hieght-6ft
            weight-14st
            Grip-Neutral
            good balance, tempo

My swing was more around my body, Now upright!!!
I do have faith in my coach
A fade is a good shot to have, but the course that I play (The Warwickshire) is long and you need to drive well, else you have no chance of reaching the greens!!
