Can the Finesse Swing be applied to all iron (2i-9i) shots? I am not talking about the 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 swings. I am thinking more along the lines of the hip rotation with the shoulders. If you use the power swing (hips stay stationary while shoulders move) off the tee box and use the finesse swing on all other shots, I was thinking this would simplify when to use the power swing vs. the finesse swing. The only downside I can see is you loose distance when it comes to your longest iron.

Re: Irons Question for Pelz Fans
Sure!
Dave Pelz describes a finesse swing as everything moves at the same time upper body and lower body. None of your body coils against another part, as you do in a power swing. My thought here was to apply the finesse swing to all my iron shots. I assumed I would use longer irons where others would use a shorter. The downside would be when I need a "real" long iron shot. This seemed a little too easy, so I thought I ask to get an opinion. When you said it would produce a big slice, at first I thought, wow, I never expected that would occur. I gave it a little thought. I can see timing the lower and upper body to work together. Thus, I would have a difficult time keeping everything together on a full swing.
By the way, I never directly thanked you for providing the right hand drill and impact drill. Those two drills turned the little light bulb on in my head. It really helped me better understand the golf swing. Thanks!

Re: Irons Question for Pelz Fans
I did read your first post wrong. The finness swing is extramly difficult to generate power and accuracy together. Your timming is going to be all over the place if you are trying to play a long iron with it. Don't use it unless you are taking some power off it and have the luxary of a short easy distance.
and thanks for the thanks! Glad the drills help.
