Which Magazine?

    Which Magazine?

    I'm going to subscribe to a golf magazine as my wife can get them cheap for her waiting room.

    Which magazine is the best for tips and instruction. I think the 3 I can choose from are:

    Golf Digest
    Golf Magazine
    Golf World

    I'll probably go find a magazine rack and take a look at all 3. Golf Digest is the only one I've really looked through.

    I'd probably pick the one with the least amount of instruction in it. Advice is tough to give without seeing a swing, and should be even tougher to take when the person offering advice hasn't seen your swing.

      I've read all 3. My own opinion is that Golf Digest is head & tails ahead of the other two in instruction, golf personalities, humor, travel, etc.

        I like Golf magazine -- the writing stle overall seems a bit more "with-it" and I like Dave Feherty's column at the end. Both magazine's have excellent hints and each has a pull-out game-improvement section. Golf Digest has a a fold-out section with the pro's swing shot frame-by frame -- which is probably the best thing in the magazine. Golf Magazine does that too but not every issue.

        Golf Tips and Golf Illustrated are tips and instruction only and to tell you the truth much of it seems to be the same old thing. The layout on Golf Tips is pretty confusing sometimes. Golf Illustrated is definitely amature-ish.

        Of course if you're like me you buy them all anyway!

          Thanks all that replied. I think I'll be getting the Golf Digest Magazine. I like the tips for breaking 100-90-80-70.

            Do you guys in the US have a magazine called Today's Golfer or is it just a UK mag. Thats the one I get. Plenty of tips and advice but with fun and humour included. It's a good light read when you head is too full of golfing mush to take in any more tips.

              I've actually just answered my own question. Just looked on the tinterweb and it seams Today's Golfer is just UK based.
