Sup guys, I just bought an R5 Dual about a month ago and it came with the standard shaft, its good, but everyone keeps telling me its the shaft that will give you distance not so much the clubhead. What shaft would you recommend for me, im not very tall, 5'8 so I wanna have a good oppurtunity to drive it far with good equipment. I just wanna be able to rip it, I can currently drive 260-265, and Im also taking a golf fitness program to get more flexible and stronger...so im doing anything I can to add distance, so what shaft would you say does the trick for a guy in need for more distance?

Re: Im Looking for a Top of Line Shaft..
sounds like you have pretty good distance already. There are more technically qualified experts at this site, but my guess is that changing the shaft with the same stiffness will only change the feel of the shot. Lengthening the shaft will help, but more difficult to control.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.

Sounds like an Aggressive nRAGE in S is right up your alley - and play your driver at 44.5"

Re: Im Looking for a Top of Line Shaft..
If possible I would recomend going to a Taylormade (or even a ping or Callaway) Demo days or in the alternative to a big golf store which has a range and launch moniter and a number of high end shafts to try.
I know last year Callaway had one at my club and it was interesting because they had lots of clubs with lots of diferent high end shafts. Some of the Shafts were a little better and some of them a little worse then the Callaway stock shaft. But which shaft was the best greatly differed from golfer to golfer.
Just my two cents

Just keep in mind that the shaft that you buy from a supplier and the shaft that came in your Callaway aren't necessarily the same shaft.

www.lowprogolf.com has the aggressive shafts. I would also suggest looking into the Graman UL series of shafts...
