Na man I dont think its a woman, I think its like a regular flex, but I put quite the descending blow on my ball. I have quite an interesting story also, I was at the range, this mid 40 year old man let me try out his new titleist three wood and five wood. Before I hit them he watched me hit with my own clubs and he said "boy you have strong, hard swing", lol. So then I tried his five wood, he was telling me how he loved this club and stuff, so I took a swing at it. As I completed my downswing the shaft just snapped. I felt soooo bad, like I was willing to pay for it right then right there. Luckily he put his shafts together himself and he had tons lying around at home so I was lucky, but it was a really interesting occurrence. I think thats an indication though, I think that as Im getting older (Im 18), I should probably switch to steel. I have graphite irons and fairway woods, so I think I should make the switch soon. But im not sure bout the three wood, all i know is it is kinda whippy and Im pondering with the idea of putting a steel on it.

yeah youre old enough to have steel shafts in your irons
i have a 3 wood and 5 wood with dynamic gold steel shafts, you have to put a swing on them to get them in the air, its your choice but i wish i would of got graphite

I went to a local shop having its winter sale.

I tried out a set of Mizuno clubs with stiff shafts. After the saleman asked me how far I hit a 5 iron (130 to 150) he wouldn't let me buy them. He said you need the reg flex shafts.

Wanted to but a Mizuno 3-W had senior flex shafts. The guy wouldn't let me buy them either.

He said I'd rather have me happy with the clubs than make a sale. And he was sure I wouldn't like the clubs with the wrong shaft.

My lesson is the shaft makes a difference.

If your using soft shafts made for a slow swing and as you've gotten stronger, you need stiffer shafts.

I play stiff graphite in my irons, and firm in the woods. My three wood is steel and hurts my elbow if I hit more than a dozen shots with it. I am now looking for an Orlimar 16 deg Trimetal Plus wood with firm or stiff Graphite shaft.
I am convinced that you will have less injuries in your arms and back if you use graphite shafts - just my thoughts tho'
