  • rescue clubs - good idea or not???

    Hi All

Can I get your opinions on so called " rescue clubs" . I am not getting any younger and find that I don't hit my long irons very well anymore. My problem is that I also have very little confidence with fairway woods so I am between a rock and a hard place.

Do you think that a rescue club might be good for me (16 handicapper).

      As above, YES YES YES.
I am 48 and without the rescue clubs my confidence would be lower and my scores higher.

Everyone says they are great! but make sure you hit them before you buy them. I am Young 27, and hit my long irons great and my three wood but on TIGHT courses I will remove the 2 iron and put the Titleist. Rescue 16* or 22* degree!! Flys Hi and Lands soft!

I have just bought an amazing rescue club - SPX USA 3 18 deg, just like a miniature 5 wood, but it is hot.
The cost - 19.99 sterling, about 38 dollars.
This is the right shape, good shaft, and the ball goes off the face like a scalded cat!!!!

Has anyone heard of this in the States, if so, I want the 21/22 and 25 deg versions NOWWWW!!!!!!!

          This is very accurate.

ive only been playing twelve months and couldnt really hit anything lower than a 6i probably due to bad technique so i tried a 25deg ben sayers utility club and after a little while to get used to it ive never looked back its 180yds plus and straight every time and it was less than 30 quid!

My thanks to everyone that replied. I bought a 21degree Mikken on Saturday before my last round. had a bit of time to practice with it before teeing off. Seemed to be hitting it off the toe a lot so made a few adjustments which seemed to work ok. Only hit it three times during the round, one bad connection (topped it) two pretty good shots of around 170 metres. Nice high ball flight and pretty straight too.

Think I am going to get to like it a lot - time will tell!!

              Thanks again

              Mike
