would like to thanks members here, esp ian, lowpost and others who have rec: B. Rotelli's Golf is not a perfect game. quite an eye opener and i think it will help my game dramatically as I tend to get too caught up in mechanical thinking on the course.

PCS Class 'A' Clubfitter
A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Thanks to members
It's a great read, isn't it? I have to re-read it before the snow thaws, just to keep the ideas fresh.
'The golf of your dreams' is another good Dr. Bob book... it got me all fired up to practice (believe it or not).

Amen to all that is Rotella.
I have four of his books:
Golf is Not a Game of Perfect
The Golf of Your Dreams
Putting Out of Your Mind
Golf is a Game of Confidence
I can honestly say that I have read and re-read all four books so many times I've lost count. I decided that I'd spent the majority of my serious golfing life (which is about 4 years now) brainwashing myself into bad play, so I thought I'd re-read his literature to brainwash myself into good play!
It worked!
My handicap has tumbled from 16 to 6 in 18 months.
The book that helped me most is Putting Out of Your Mind. Fantastic read. I'm finally starting to shed my fear of putting and think about holing every putt, rather than worry about missing. Consequently, I hole more putts!
How wonderfully the mind and body work when left to their own devices.
