Is there anyone else who refuses to trade in their long irons for hybrids? I suppose I am a foolish purist, but there is something about hitting a 3 iron dead flush that is so satisfying in the sense that you've just done something pretty damned difficult to achieve. Other than on par 3's, I typically don't use one more than a couple times in a round if I am driving well. But by constantly practicing with the longer clubs at the range, I'm convinced it helps my ball striking with the scoring clubs.

Re: Cro-Magnon Man
Yeah maybe thats me too. Im still working down from a 10 hcp and I figure that if I cant hit a 3i or a 3/5w and learn to work it then whats the point of a hybrid .. sure I'll probably have lower scores in quicker time but I want to be able to hit that 200+ yard draw with a 3iOriginally posted by Gary WIs there anyone else who refuses to trade in their long irons for hybrids? Thats why I carry my MP-30 2-Iron, I hit it the other day and caught it pure, man theres no feeling like it in golf.
Hybrids will go the same way as the lob wedge I think, still used but not universally subscribed to, it depends on how long it takes the manufacturers to come up with the new hip club....
