Spin milled do put a good bit more spin on for sure, all depends if you can use it or not. I find spin only carries most of us away from the hole cos average club golfers ALWAYS underclub. But if your ego needs shored up and you have plenty of bucks to spend replacing Pro-V's that get chewed up by these bad boys then go right ahead.....waste of money if you ask me (and you didnt)....

Save your cash, buy a couple of Cobra Wedges instead.........

In fact I am starting my campaign to get speciality wedges exposed as just another advertising fraud right here. I wouldnt swap my 60 degree for anything but my 53 sees less and less action these days cos I learned how to control the distance on my set wedge by moving up and down the grip and using a full and half swing, less flyers and more control when the ball lands, hit a little bit harder for check spin if you need to go over the pin, hit a little less and choke off the follow through and the ball kicks on a couple of yards for when you can go right at the pin......simple really only the pro's who get paid to endorse vokeys and the like think they are any better, and bear in mind they practice for hours with them, I know I sure dont have that kind of time on my hands.

I have to admire Titleists tenacity in managing to bring out a new wedge almost as often as they bring out a new driver though......

Well, of course they making bucks of us...*S* (Like the Gophers making fun of me *G*)
Anyhow, I need to replace my Wedges I have them since yrs and the groves are gone.
I like the Mizuno MP'S and the Vokeys. I was just wondering if there is a significant difference between the Vokeys.
I have a hard time deciding between the two brands... *G*

And no, I don't wanna keep buying new balls.

In The Science Of Golf, Cochran and Stobbs report that a SMOOTH face club has the same spin as a grooved club on dry surfaces.

Pelz disagrees with this by focusing on wet surfaces, and he believes that he has shown that in WET conditions, the difference for a 7 iron can be roughly 3-4% for different grooves. The difference in yardage indicates spin, since more spin stops shorter.

In reality, in dry conditions, it doesn't matter at all. In wet conditions, the idea that a ball could be shredded is mostly because of the placebo effect.

Forget the rest, go with the best. SMT Durometer wedges. CNC face milling put extra junk on your ball. It's made it so that I'm not as afraid to chip, and pitches stop up nicely.

I know it sounds like an infomercial, but for a guy who has trouble getting check or stunning the ball, these wedges have it closer to what I'm trying to do than any other that I've tried. (That said, I've got some nice SnakeEyes 600XC wedges - gap, sand and lob, for sale).
