  • Tempo AND Rhythm

    Hi guys,
Just back from the range and I am jumping up and down! With all my problems of late, i.e. shanks, and no consistency, I decided that a lot of my problem was tension and being uptight. I have spent the evening working on the above abnd the results are tremendous. I am convinced that if a relaxed attitude is not on my agenda, there is no point in trying.
My new motto is "uptight is not right"

that is my swing secret, the looser, the farther. The hard part (I am working on now) is speeding up your swing while staying loose.

        Re: Tempo AND Rhythm

So many players are obsessed with distance, more so than with accuracy, and scoring. Not everyone has the same tempo, and timming for their individual swings. Some will be faster, and some will be slower. When a person deviates from their own personal timming/tempo controlled swing speed their game will suffer. I use my own game as an example. My 7i distance is right at 135 yards, and I can still compete with par alot of times. I can hit my 7i 150+, but my my accuracy falls way off. This is the same scenario with all my clubs. My longer hitting days are some years behind me. Obviously my score will depend on the tees I play from, and the course length. Play with in yourself to score well. However, if you wnat to swing for the fences to have fun, that is ok too. GJS
