  • Thankfully no-one was around

I played my most embarassing hole yesterday. Short par 3, downhill. I take my 9 iron out and take a foot long trench out before the ball. Playing by myself and nobody behind me so I drop another one on the tee and hit it. The dreaded S-word towards the next tee. Instead of embarassing myself by going to that ball when people were on the tee I hit my first ball that is hardly off the tee boxes. S-word right where the 2nd tee shot went. Luckily the people teeing off are gone now. Pick up one of the balls and hit the next one. S-word again.

Did manage a nice chip and 1 putt.
Now I'm wondering what my tee shot is going to be like. Nice drive that goes through the dog leg a yard or two. Now I'm right next the range and a sandwedge to the green. I've just sh##ked this dang thing twice. Two small children on the driving range to my right. I'm thinking god I hope I don't kill one of them if I sh##ked this thing. Whew!, nice straight shot over the flag stick and rolled off the back of the green. Chip 2, putt. Call it a day.

I had only planned on playing 3 holes anyway. Had a half hour to kill before my dad arrived to load up our cart for some repairs.

Don't mean to laugh but I can just see myself in that same situation. You seem to take it a bit better than I do. I would be fretting for days wondering where the durn lateral shots came from.

Thanks for the chuckle. It lightened my day up. I hope you shoot "lights out" tomorrow...
