  • 2 man Scramble OB Ruling

In our golf league we've just entered our 2 man scramble set of weeks. We play 9 holes and have to us at least 4 of each persons tee shots.

I've used all 4 of my tee shots and we've used 2 of my partners. With 3 holes left. We both hit our drives O.B.

My thinking is we count that as his drive and we both tee up again. My partner tees up and hits another one O.B. So I start to tee mine up and they say if we want to count it as using his tee shot I have to drop on the tee box. Or I can tee it up and count it as my fifth and final tee shot.

I ended up teeing it up and counting it as my fifth and final tee shot. But I think it was a bogus ruling.

We should both be entitled to teeing the ball up as we are still on the tee box. And count his drive as the drive that went O.B.

    Hope this makes sense.

For what it's worth I would have had your interpretation, your using his Tee Shot, you get to play it from his next shot is from i.e. the Tee Box and teed up. The next shot is your teams 3rd not your tee shot.

Yep, that is my exact interpretation.

Totally agree. You would have the same ruling if you hit your tee shot OB, his tee shot is on the golf course but declared "lost". You can both go back to the tee and hit 3 from there and use a tee under the ball.
