  • There may be hope!

A few weeks back I wrote asking for advice on how to improve my very poor game in order to have a chance of beating my mate whom I had stupidly made a bet with that I would beat him in the most important tournament of the year at our local club. With the competiton now 2 days away he still remains a massive bandit, but there may be hope. Today I played 9 holes in 3 under my handicap and all that after playing 3 off the tee on three seperate occasions in total during the 9. I really felt my wedge game was spot on, the ball just felt so pure of the clubface it was unbelievable. I was also hitting the ball so far. On hole 2 a par 5 I was left with a six iron in for shot 2 put it over the back and into a greenside bunker before lipping out from there and draining the birdie putt. Hole 9 was also great a par 5 520 yards slightly down hill after my drive left with a four iron in and put this over the back also into a greenside trap. This time however I couldnt manage an up and down but still got a par. For the 9 I went:

par, birdie, bogey, treble bogey, double bogey, double bogey, par, par, par

The two doubles and treble bogey were all where I lost my drives!

I just need to cut out the loose shots and then I feel I have a chance.

    HI Pal.
The best tip i can offer with so little time left is , play your own game , nothing you can do can influence anybody else's game. Stay relaxed and enjoy the experience.play one shot at a time.
    cheers pal
