Recently I've posted a couple of threads asking on how to improve my game in order to beat my mate (there was a tenner riding on it) in the most important competition of the year at our local club. Well because of heavy rain and thunderstorms it was cut down from 36 holes to only 18. I stood on the 1st tee feeling confident, 4 hours later I returned a nett score of 67! By the end of the day a three man tie resulted for 1st place! Me, another guy and yep you guessed it my mate. We now have to play an 18 hole strokeplay playoff in a couple of weeks to decide it, but I'm feeling confident. I want to get a couple of lessons before then just to tidy things up and the other guy in the running plays off 3 meaning I get a lot of shots which is a big bonus, so I'm feeling good about it!

Re: you won't believe it!
That is GREAT!!! Good luck
my suggestion, Dont get to thinking about your swing too much and maybe skip out on the full swing lesson. Take a lesson on short game, ask for chipping techniques in a variety of lies. and work on putting alignment. I cant tell you how good something like the eyeline putting aid is. It works on improving your putting alignment. Since gettig that thing I dont miss much inside of six feet, did not misss any today. I have not changed my stroke at all but changing my set up has improved my stroke. after the tourney then you can get analytical about the full swing. but that is only my suggestion, we each have our own route to follow.
good luck in the searchLast edited by shootin4par; 07-22-2006, 06:25 PM.
