Hi Guys,
I shot 75 (36 and 39) from the white tees in a member-member at Mt. Snow, Vermont, my lowest yet. I played with my son and we came in third low gross for 151 for 2 days. I thought I would share some of the keys that seemed to help.
1) Putting - keeping my legs and head still
2) Ball striking - maintaining the connection between the left arm and chest throughout the swing. Since I have a tendency to pull the ball, I went to the range prior to the tournament and hit balls from the right side towards the center. What I found was that when I pulled the ball, my follow through was more around rather than more up the line. So I worked on folding the left arm up rather than around so much. I'm not sure I'm explaining this correctly, but I think this allowed me to align up correctly on the course ( which I would normall feel is a left alignment) without the fear of pulling the ball.
3) Trying to focus on one shot at at time. I had 2 three putts from within 10 feet the 3rd and 4th hole which could have been a mental disaster. I worked hard at forgetting it and moving on.
Anyway, I thought I would share this all of you. Hope it helps.
