    Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

Get on average 240m - 250m (carry & roll) with it. And with the driver, if and when I hit it straight, I get out to 280 - 300m. That's when I get it straight...

As you say, being a lad, when the driver comes out its like Tim the Toolman ooh ooh ooh... I'm gunna SMASH this...

Then, I end up usually looking in the second cut or in the trees....

So, thats why it's in the shed...

    Happy New Year...

Hi, I'm new here. I'm a 13.2 handicap. Personal best was 75. Lately it's usually anywhere in the 80's. 84 last Sat. and 84 last Sun.

I'm happy to break 100, been doing that pretty consistently on my home course - par 72 - next goal is break 90.... always trying to get better.. why I love and hate this game simultaneously!

Well, i'll post everything I track....

          GIRs - 68% or 12'ish per round
Fairways Hit (started tracking last year, only 10 rounds worth of stats) - 67%
Just started tracking putts per round - last 3 rounds - 37 putts average (too many 3 putts)

          Carry Yardages:
          LW - 90
          SW - 110
PW - 130 (could hit it 135, but I really have to go at it, rather hit a 1/2 9i)
          9i - 145
          8i - 155
          7i - 165
6i - 175 (can get it 180, next to my PW, I hit this club the best)
          5i - 185
4i - 190 (don't hit this club all that well)
          3iH - 205
          5w - 225
          3w - 240
          Driver - 265

10 rounds in a row breaking 80, last 2 rounds of 75. Handicap is now 5.92.

My home course just underwent a 7 million dollar renovation reopening this past Memorial Day. On the old course I could shoot mid 70s but now with 4 dozen new bunkers, narrower fairways, great grass and new rough not yet grown in, I'm in the upper 80s on a good day. Still haven't figured out the breaks in the redesigned greens and they are 5 times faster than the old ones. Boy I love this game!

Scratch round mines is 70, scores this year of 68, 70 a bunch of maybe a half dozen 72's a half dozen between 73 and 75 (my buffer) a couple of sloppy 76's and a horror 79...all scores in counters, bounce games dont really count as not "under the gun" in my opinion.

average for competitive rounds this season probably around 73. I'm always happy with level 4's though, means at worst you are a 1-2 handicapper at Longniddry.

my course is 6179 off the comp tees and a par 71.
current h/c is 23, but scoring low 90's, yet to do this on a comp day, playing wed so a good round could see a drop, always hopeful. set a target this year to get down 3 strokes.
