So people, which iron do you think provides the best overall feel through impact? Forged, cast, satainless steel, carbon steel, blades, game improvement? I used to play Cobra game improvement stainless steel irons which, I must honestly say, felt rather pretty good through impact. But, I just recently switched to Cleveland CG2's and to be honest, the feel is just like no other. Cheers!

thats about feel and every one is diffrent, you wont get the 10 people to agree as we all feel clubs in a diffrent way. ask lee westwood and he will say his old ping zing2s, a few pros still use ping eye2 wedges , its all about what works for you day in and day out

For 'feel', you cannot beat forged muscle back or even muscle cav. There are a few soft cast clubs (303 stainless) that have pretty good feel, but there's no feeling like flushing a forged iron. Talk about buttery soft.
That said, I think that from a forgiveness standpoint, it's tough to get a forged club into the areas that a cast club can get to - now, that said, any deep cavity cast club usually has a shelf you can see behind the top line - which I can't stand. Don't get me wrong, I'm no club snob. I don't care what the top line looks like, what the cavity looks like (or if there even is one), but I get distracted if I can see something behind the top line.Comment

how you mean you get distracted. i have both ping k1 and ping zings and i cant see the cavity when i address the ball or have i picked you up wrong.
are mine cast ot forged.

So wide, in fact, that when sitting at address, you can see it behind the topline. Now, there's only a few sets out there like this (Golfsmith special force irons come to mind), but when I try to hit them, I can only see that sole sticking out.Comment
