I am from that "pathetic" nation and I am strangling from my own greeed, that is why I choose to be a school teacher. So if you are implying that we struggle for lack of moral value, then your posts really show the true meaning of moral values? There are many things wrong with PEOPLE in this world, and I am sure some of the people in your country have negative behaviors as well.

and as a point of interest, the moderators alter your points because of your disrespect to the site by consistent negative posts towards others on here

Do you actually believe (and expect others to believe) that Tiger, Toms, Cink, Phil, Dimarco, Verplank, Cambell, Furyk, and Taylor have not played overseas and do not have passports??

Americans play a lot of team sports and are good at a lot of team sports and have a lot of team spirit. Now I do believe that most Americans look at the Ryder cup as a good will event and throwing golfers together 2 weeks prior to an event I do not think fosters a lot of "team spirit". Nor do I think that generalizing about a whole nation based on one event is fair. But, if that is the case Europe sure lacked team spirit (among other things) from 1947-83

hogan and trevino are to of my all time hero's. love watching how both put the club square and on the sweet spot time and time again.
i also like dave plez, think his books have helped lots of golfer like me play lot better.
so i could not say i dont like americans any more that i can say i dislike scots. some i like some i dont.

i bet trevino has been and done it too when he first started on the tour.
did you hear about the time when he was not yet on tour and some busness men at his club aranged for trevino to play ray floyd for money.
trevino was stiiting on steps waiting on floyd arivimg and when floyd did he tossed trevino the keys to his car to park and told him to get the clubs out the back.
when on the first tee floyd thought trevino was going to caddy for him,
trevino beat him by one shot and ray floyd had a lot to do with trevino getting hit ticket to play on the pro tour.
with regards the passports of two of the usa playes, it was reported the two of the passports run out on the sat and the hard to rush and renew them before they came over, it was not picked up till two days before they came over to ireland

what is it that allows the Europeans to win this type of team event but not the Majors?

I must say that Casey was a real battleship though, his confidence seemed to soar after winning the World Matchplay final 9 and 8 the week before.

I have been think about what the difference between the two teams was, i was quite suprised when you look at the world rankings:

In the Top 20 there are 5 Americans and 8 Europeans.

Even more suprising if you look at the actual rankings:

US
1. Woods
2. Furyk
3. Mickelson
15. DiMarco
16.Toms

Europe
8. Donald
9. Garcia
11. Stenson
13. Howell
14. Monty
17. Casey
18. Olie
19. Harrington

Once you get past the first 3, the next US ryder cup player was 15th. European side has no individual stars but greater strength in depth.
Which to my thinking was the difference. If Tiger/furyk/Mickelson do not perform then there is not the strength in depth.
