          Re: Killed a Duck

I parked on the 18th green, jumped over a small stream and a group of ducklings to my right were walking towards me, they were so cute I tried to hold one, BIG MISTAKE, out of nowhere mama duck came flying towards me quacking with anger, I ran as fast as I could but mama duck was too close, she she dove at my back and bit my belt and held on for at least 2 seconds, I was scared, by the time it was over my foursome dropped to their knees dying from laughter, noticed that on the 10 tee box another foursome, 3 hunched over and 1 on his back dying from laughter...I'll never do that again

LOL.This is a funny thread. I am sure some of you have seen this while on the driving range. After re-seeding, several hundred pigeons will will be out in front of the golfers on the range. Sometimes they will all fly off at once, and if someone hits a driver at the right time, and hits a pigeon flush, it looks like a snow storm with feathers exploding, flying every where.

Too bad about the duck. However, more than likely the corpse became another predator's meal later on. GJS

              sdscouse,

I can sympathize with you. Last year I was playing with 3 friends at a course known for attracting a lot of Canada Geese. On one hole, there were numerouse geese on the fairway, but we went ahead and teed off. The first tee shot was safe, the second woman's shot hit a a goose in the leg and it went limping away, the third hit a low screamer that hit a goose in the head. Similar to the ducks, all the geese went toward the injured goose and surrounded it. The fourth woman didn't even tee off. We decided to skip that hole and abandoned the balls. We then called the pro shop and asked them to send someone out to make sure the bird was dead and not suffering. We all felt sick for a few holes, but then the humour started to set in to alleviate the tension. It got even more comical the next day when we played in a tournament at a different course in the area and someone asked if we were the women who killed the goose the day before. S*%t happens!

I bet that duck was just trying to sneak a look at your swing. Maybe he was a peeking duck!!!!

Best not report it. Your driving insurance could go up.

I think a couple of adjectives that rhyme with duck may have been appropriate
