  • so happy.

Well guys, Yesterday was a day I will remember for a while. Having made changes in my swing over the last 2 months, I gained a confidence that has me playing only as ive dreamed of. Yesterday at my club, (par 72), I shot a 79. Everything happened. Good drives, good iron play and hitting majority of greens in regulation. This is not a post to allow me boast but to simply say that practice is so important if you want the results. What has really been a key is staying with what works i.e. same setup stance etc. I dont think I changed anything in these points and did not have different swing thoughts on the tee boxes

    Cheers,
    Robert

79 is a great score, besides set up what else have you worked on in your swing? is that your lowest score and what do you usually shoot? again, gret job

          Hi Shootin.
I never did any better than 85+. I put this down to lack of confidence in my swing. Now though, my changes have improved me no end. What I have worked on are the following.
          1.

            Re: so happy.

Sorry Shootin, hit the wrong button.

What i have worked on are: shaft and hands just slightly ahead of ball, proper position for ball relevant to whatever club I am using, a slow smooth takeawy, and finally the understanding of pulling the club down into the slot to encourage a downward strike. I am convinced the first point i make of shaft and hands is crucial. Hope this helps others

            Cheers,
            Robert

Feel free to boast all you like. Sounds like you deserve it. You've been working on the very same things i'm currently workign on. Hopefully I'll get the same results.

wow, to beat your best by 6 strokes is quite impressive, way to hold the round together
