I can see what you and Ian are saying and its seems more logical than AJ, however my problem is that I don't really understand the concept of a "little home run" in the first place - now if someone came up with a theory based on a crisp cover drive then I'd be interested.

What he means by "A little run home" is a way of creating an additional bit of club release by using the wrists through impact.

I use a method for this where I push my right wrist under my left just as the clubhead is hitting the ball. This propels the club forward with some additional acceleration and keeps the clubface squarer to the ball a little longer, thus creating some extra distance and straighter shots. I can explain more detail if you wish.

What I cannot see is how a left wrist that is cupped backwards can create this extra release.

      "Crisp cover drive" Whats that?

tbh I'd worked that out - though why you would deliberately open the club face and risking not getting it closed again through impact is beyond me; I'd rather lose the distance.

I was actually just joking about the relevance of a "lil ole home run" to an audience brought up on cricket and who have never hit a home run - perhaps I should have said "hit a six"

Perhaps pushing the right wrist under be the subject of another articel.
