After 5 years of basically learning by watching others and analysing my own swing I had my first lesson this week (which I managed to win at a charity poker tournament!)
The pro told me that my swing was good and that the he would only change the following points
1. Opening my front foot out slightly "to help me get through the ball"
2. Having my hands further forward at address
3. Getting my hands higher at the top of the backswing
4. Feeling the gap between my forearms as i completed my swing and keeping it wide for as long as possible
i can understand 2 and 3 as I have a slightly flat swing plane from playing only links golf
Can some one explain:
1. How open I should have my front foot - i'd say its prob at 10-20 degrees open at the mo - how far open should it be.
4. What he means? his explanation was pretty poor - he had me holding a ball and swinging with that in my hands but I think all that he was trying to do was to get me to complete my shoulder rotation (thats what it felt like) and have no idea what that has to do with forearms!
thanks
