    Re: Shoes!

The cleats on the golf shoes are removable and you could get the kind that work for you. (just enough grip but not too much)

I golf in the mornings and what I found that because of the moisture, there is so much grass that gets caught in the cleats that it loses half of its gripping power. Its a pain to keep cleaning them after every hole.

      None that will be convincing.

If you're happy with how you're playing, then keep playing that way. You may decide in time (lots of foot slipping?) that maybe you'll try some cleats. But until that point, why bother if you don't think it will help?

I played the first half of my first season in basketball shoes, and sometimes wouldn't even bother to tie them up. Spikes didn't help (I found) unless it was kind of wet. Now I've got a pair of comfortable spikes (Nike Air Max - built on an athletic last), and I bought a pair of Bite sandals for the rain. I'm still not sure that I need spikes, but now that I have them, (and they're very comfortable), I don't see a reason to go back. (Granted, I also wear my spikes down to nubs before changing them).
