    ok guys
there seems to be 2 trains of thought on this one.
so here is a quick poll to determine what you do to start your takeaway
    shoulders?
    left arm?

    Re: takeaway

I SO want to say "Shoulder turn", but I guess my trigger is a slight forward press of the hands.

for me its the arms..... the arms move the shoulders and the body reacts by turning

          Re: takeaway

For me the first foot or so is arms and hands. I then find the shoulders, arms and hands tend to turn together until I reach waist height.

          Works for me

Cock head slightly to the rear of the ball (ala Nicklaus), then arm takeaway for 8" or so, then connect to shoulder turn.

Two or three waggles, then a one piece take away. Whatever cocks, or hinges during my take away, just happens with no concious thoughts on my part. GJS

Shoulders/left arm tricep/bicep-lead here, certainly. Hands and arms are quite passive.

                  Me too.

Since I started following this I've knocked about 10 shots off and I suspect that with a short game (any short game, not even necessarily a good one ) then a few more shots would follow.

The interesting thing is that I believe I have a better shoulder / body turn now than in my unsuccessful "one-piece" days which I suppose proves that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Now my moan about the many pros who have taken my money in the past is that they teach their way or no way and it just didn't work for me but thats another thread....
