  • Golf Carry Bags

I need some help understanding the layouts of these light golf bags with the build on stands.

I bought a Nike bag. It has four section:
    1) the top with a high lip: what goes in there the driver or putter? Driver, Fairwaiy wood, putter?
    2) 2 sections in the middle - i tried placing my 3i-5, 6i-8
    4) 1 section on the bottom. - 9, pw, sw, gap

    little room for hybrid.

My problem is that my clubs seem very cramped in this bag and I feel I have to jam them in. can i ruin the grips if everything is rubbing together?

Any thought on the proper lay out of this bag or recommendations for other carry bags??

i put my driver in the top, my 3W and hybrid in one middle, my putter LW in other middle, my SW, PW and 9i-3i in bottom. or sometomes i put my putter LW SW in the other middle and just the PW-3i in bottom.

maybe not the best, but it works for me..... of course i can't see your bag and mine might bebigger than yours. mine is shaped a bit like a trianlge and the bottom is a big mouth that can fot all my irons.

I have an Ogio Grom that I'm very pleased with. It has 4 big and 4 small sections. I put my putter in the high-lipped section at the top and the rest of the clubs something like this:

      -----------
      |1W|Putter|
      -----------
      |3W|5,6,7 |
      -----------
      |2H |8,9,P |
      -----------
      |4H |G,S,L |
      -----------

I sometimes replace my hybrids with a 5W and 7W. Sometimes I carry a 4 iron instead of the 4+ hybrid. If you click the WITB link in my signature, you can see a picture of the bag.

In a 4 way bag, I tended to go with my putter high. if the slot was big enough, driver, too. If not:

Wedges on the left (LW, SW, GW, PW) 9i to 6i on the right, 5i and the rest on the bottom. If I had any graphite shafted clubs, I moved them as high as possible (to avoid having the iron heads hit the shaft when I walked).

I currently use Ogio bags with the Woode divider system. 3 'main' dividers with 4 down the left side, with a putter pocket on the top. So it's Driver, 2 iron, 3 iron 4 iron down the left, then a 3 club spread throughout the other main sections.

This does not answer your question exactly but:

I started using an Electric Golf trolley a few years ago (Yes we all get there in the end) but still had the problem with the clubs rattling, jamming in and out etc. I purchased a great organiser bag that has a putter tube on the outside, a slot that holds each iron in place with full length internal tubes. It is a great bag, quiet and you can so easily find and replace each club. I think you can get a kind of similar insert for a carry bag.

          Here is the web site:

Ah! I see they do a carry stand bag like it now
