Hi gang. I was wondering if you could help me out? I am struggling with posting any type of decent score on the back nine at my course. The back nine is tougher and of course I am starting to fatigue by the tenth. These factors aside i will be positive on the turn, I try and stay warm, I eat properly, (I avoid the clubhouse where I can hear a cold-one calling me) but no matter what, my game just falls apart before my eyes'.

Re: Back nine
One thing that has helped me is to record my scores as well as notes regarding certain holes after every round. I believe that has helped me gain an understanding regarding how to play certain holes. As well as which holes I seem to blow up on. Now I have decided not pull the driver on a couple holes, aim well right/left on a couple (left is dead while a par can be made from the right rough) but primarily to keep the ball below the hole on about 6 holes leads to an easy par.
Have you tried to determine what the biggest problem is? certain holes, hitting it ob, just a series of poor shots, Tee shots getting you in trouble etc, poor chipping, length of the holes, the par 3's, 4's 5's ..........

Re: Back nine
That's the thing, i'm finding it difficult to pinpoint the problem/problems. It starts with a couple of bad shots and I become frustrated, I try and stay relaxed. I have even tried to channel the frustration into my game telling myself "the course owes me" but the result is usualy the same, my good front nine score just slips away.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Back nine
Maybe you need a cold one at the clubhouse - refresh and relax.
I'm sure a percentage is mental: You expect to play poorly, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Try forgetting about your front nine, and just play the back like a 9 holer next time out.

Re: Back nine
Hi,
I read a good post on this site once that may help. Someone suggested to play the course in groups of three holes (six games of three) This way you only focus on a small part of the course at a time and you can compare each group with how you played them previously. It also takes away the thoughts like "I just had a bad hole and I have seven more to play, they will all probably be like this one".
