  • silly question for you

i have a set of dunlop MAX golf clubs, the lot came to £100 ish. now i am basically rubbish at golf yet but i went for a game the other day and the lad i played with had a set of taylormade clubs. he swapped with me for the entire 18 holes. he has been playing for a few years and is way way better than me.

now he paid approx £500 for his clubs and he said he could tell very little diffence in the quality, wieght and general performance between the two sets of clubs.

mine £100, his £500. yet i myself found absolutley no difference except the grip felt strange to me.

so what is the difference between cheaper clubs and those that cost a fortune, why are they so much more expensive when they do the same thing, they don't appear to have any extras or be diffenrent lengths or anything, so why the huge price difference. i know people are going to compare it to driving a lexus or a micra etc, but there are clear differences in quality there.

Trust me there is a big difference! If your a good ball striker you would be able to tell the difference!

Sorry if this comes across abit horrible, but your ball striking must be pretty poor! lol!

thats my point, i am rubbish, but the lad i play has a low handicap and he couldn't really see anydifference. maybe its just that the dunlop clubs are good, but for that price i doubt it

I say it so often I may as well put it in my signature:

If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

The truth is, both sets may have very similar build profiles - shaft weight, head weight, etc.
