  • the longer the club the harder it is!

    Hi Guys

I am current working on my swing which is starting to bear fruit. Most of my irons are starting to go lovely but it when i get into the hybrids, fairway woods and the driver I cant seem to replicate the same action as with the irons. In the past i was guilty of an OTT action, so I have been working on keeping the butt end of the club pointing at the ball in the downswing but as soon as I try the longer clubs I cant quite get the same feelings and results. I am assuming it is partly mental, the longer the club you have in your hands the urge is to give it that little bit extra. Does any have any tips that might help? cheers

    hi
the longer the iron the harder we try and hit the ball and that what wrong. you swing at the same speed with all clubs and at the same tempo, if you can relax and swing at a nice 80/90% relaxed tempo you will find you hit as far as you do hitting at a 100% and also you will hit through the ball cleaner.

      Hi Leepy,

What problems are you having with longer clubs, are you topping, hitting behind the ball, lacking distance?
