  • more distance on driver

I am a fairly strong person;however, I have extremely high arches and bad ankles. These 2 things leads me to bad balance. When I try to swing hard enough to produce good club head speed I lose my balance, subsequently the ball will go offline. If I slow the swing down as to keep my balance, my distance is cut dramatically. Any suggestions or drills as to how I can swing my driver harder and yet stay balanced???????

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Don't underestimate the hands

You can compensate greatly by using the slot on the way down and making sure you rotate the forearms at impact. This will get you more distance and you will have a better chance of hitting the shots pure.

Harvey Penick said: To gain more distance with a driver you must learn the magic move, a weight shift to the left and the return of the right elbow to the side. This is one move not two, learn it and you will unlock the power in your swing.

Although I don't understand how high arches in the feet have anything to do with body balance, the problem with distance is being tenitive, not confident when swinging and an improper motion in the swing. If you submit a video of your swing to the video gallery in AVI format, your question can be answered.

I have completely flat feet and it doesn't affect my swing.
