  • Pushing to the right

Can anyone help? Recently I have been oushing all my irons out to the right, I feel at address I am square to the target but would I be right in saying my hands are getting thru before i hit the ball which is leaving the face open. It isn't fading it just goes straight right. Any tips on how to correct this would be fantastic as the course i play has very tight fairwaiys
    Cheers

    Re: Pushing to the right

Hitting the ball straight right implies open club face travelling square to an in to out path. For mine, and I stand to be corrected, you may not be rolling wrists through impact enough in order to square the face to the intended target line. This would give you a square face on an in to out path which should result in a draw or worse case a hook.

    Or

    Your alignment may be off.

I'd go with checking the alignment first...

      Colin:
Check your grip pressure and keep it very light
Check your grip and make sure you see at least 2 knuckles on left hand when looking down and make sure the right hand is at least facing target-roll the right hand a little under for now to encourage closing the clubface at impact.
Check that you are finishing your backswing, take your time going back and down, you may be rushing the downswing and cutting your backswing short which reduces wrist hinge.
Make sure you are hitting through the shot and not hitting at it.
Make sure your feet are aligned parallel left of the target but not too much left, use a club across your toes to make sure. Its amazing at the range how few people(maybe 1 out of 10) fail to align properly then spend the next hour beating balls for nothing.
