  • conceding putt.

In match play you have a 3ft putt and your opponent walks to the next tee.Has he automatically given you the putt?.

    I'd say no.

If he didn't express that it was given, then I'd play it out.

Maybe he expects you to make it.

      I agree with LP.

I would like to add that it is quite rude of your opponent to walk off the green or not to remain just off the green, before the hole is finished.

Unless, Ben Crane, you're playing way, way too slowly.

          Re: conceding putt.

For those of us who are "Rule Book Oriented", Rule 2.4 covers Concession of next Stroke, Hole or Match...

The rule makes no specific reference whatsoever to how the concession is given. Only that once it is given, it can not be withdrawn.

I agree with LP & VP and if it is not expressly given, then I'd proceed as if it hasn't been...

That's not to say that you could presume that it is given and then advise that you took his actions as a concession and see what happens. I guess it would depend on how BIG the sheep station you are playing for is...

If he is that rude I would take it as a concession. But before picking the ball up just call out 'That was halved then!' (or whatever).
